Text Box:

Two heifers with calves at foot from the RASE at Stoneleigh together with two weaned heifers from Toddington were joined by the young bull Ash Larry from Wimpole, founding the Collegewood herd in 1988.  They arrived on the Chilterns above the Goring Gap and took their name from an area of beech forest where they outwintered.  A policy of forage only, no housing and freedom to exhibit their natural behaviour has been followed since then. The herd has grown to over thirfy cows with a new bull, Smoile Gilbert.  Since the year 2000 they have graced the two hundred acres of Crowsley Park, an ancient deer park on the Chilterns.  The weaned calves are brought down to Thameside pastures where the strictly outdoor regime is continued.   The herd has thrived and is trouble free. Despite this semi feral existence all stock is hand tame and easily managed.

Herd visits welcome.

Yearlings and bulling heifers available on request
